So what about the advantages of having a desktop? generally, getting a desktop is a cheaper option and you get more value for money. Cheaper desktops will tend to be a lot more reliable that cheaper laptops which can tend to break down more often. They are also cheaper to repair if you do cause some damage yourself, such as spilling a drink on the keyboard. Do this with a desktop and all you need to do is replace the keyboard. Do it with a laptop and you have a more serious problem.

You will also get more value for money in terms of performance. You will be able to get a larger hard drive, faster processor and better drivers for cheaper rates. Additionally, they are far less likely to be stolen and much less likely to be accidentally knocked onto the floor and broken.

Finally, they are generally better for you to use. They are better for your hands, eyes and back when using them and for students spending hours everyday completing assignments and other things this is important. - 30432
