Desktop Computers - New Isn't Always The Best Option

By Matthew Kerridge

Used desktop computers aren't always old systems that are ready for their grave. Computers that have been refurbished and recertified also fall under this used category. Those computers are considered used as well because they aren't new from the factory. They do, in most cases, have brand new components that have been installed to get them back in working condition.

When desktops computers are recertified and refurbished they are check over completely and any problem are addressed accordingly. After repairs are made, these computers are resold with a warranty that promises everything is in perfect working condition. These are the safest computers to buy if you are looking to buy a used one.

A large selection of online websites that sell refurbished models can be found online with a quick search on Google. All of these sites sell systems that have been checked and repaired and are now in like new working condition. They can be found in prices going as cheap as $200 to $400 even.

Just a few of the top manufacturer names you will find when looking for these refurbished systems are names like Dell, Sony and Compaq. To find them all you have to do is get online and look.

Another thing you will usually find on these websites is OEM versions of various Windows Operating Systems. These versions are generally cheap to get your hands on and work just the same as long as you know how to install them yourself, which isn't hard.

At times you just might not be able to find exactly what you were looking for and you will instead want to look in to purchasing an additional CD drive instead. If you are unsure how to install this yourself, don't worry, online tutorials are easy to find and usually a friend will know how that can do it for you.

If you are just looking for a new computer that you can use for listening to music, watching movies and sending emails you are not going to need to spend a fortune on a new computer system. In these cases it is much cheaper to just buy a used desktop computer. You will be able to do the same work as you would on a brand new one and it will cost you much less. The extra money you saved can be used for upgrades to the system if you want to add some additional to the basic model. - 30432
